People close to A-Rod and J.Lo believed the pop star and the former Yankee would be a hit together.
“They’re both single, have these huge careers and their families are their No. 1 priorities,” the insider told the entertainment outlet. “They have a lot in common and friends thought they could be really good together.”
News of Rodriguez and Lopez’s relationship emerged last week, several months after the “Let’s Get Loud” singer was linked to fellow musical artist Drake.
Days after their romance was reported, Lopez, 47, and Rodriguez, 41, traveled to the Bahamas together, where they spent this past weekend.
The high-profile duo — dubbed J-Rod — visited the private Bakers Bay Golf & Ocean Club, where they were seen on a boat near the dock in photos obtained by ET.
A-Rod briefly appeared in an image on Lopez’s Instagram story from the trip, but it was deleted shortly after.
Rodriguez, who retired from Major League Baseball after 22 seasons last year, also recently attended one of Lopez’s concerts in Las Vegas, where she has an ongoing residency.
A-Rod has remained in the public eye despite his retirement and is currently serving as a special instructor for the Yankees in Tampa during Spring Training. The longtime third baseman also recently announced he’s joining Fox Sports on a full-time basis as an MLB analyst.
Due to all of their individual commitments, Rodriguez and Lopez will have to find times where they’re both free in order to get together, according to the ET source.
“Their schedules are so crazy and that isn’t going to slow down anytime soon,” the insider said. “They will both continue to carry out their work obligations and will meet up when time allows.”
Rodriguez recently split with Silicon Valley tycoon Anne Wojcicki before beginning his relationship with Lopez.
