The Jets are still searching for an answer to their most glaring offensive deficiency other than quarterback: Tight end.
To that end, the team will be hosting veteran tight end Mychal Rivera on Monday, according to a source.
Rivera, 26, played 61 games in four seasons for the Raiders. The 6-3, 245-pound Rivera had 38 receptions for 407 yards and four touchdowns last season in Oakland.
The Jets got virtually no production out of the tight end spot in Chan Gailey’s offense the past two seasons.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins is suspended for the first two games of the 2017 season for a DUI incident last year.
Note: The Jets deal with former Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne is reportedly one year for $5 million.
