The Daily News has learned that the Jets are signing veteran nose tackle Mike Pennel to a one-year deal.
The 25-year-old Pennel, who was claimed off waivers from the Packers last month, was a non-tendered restricted free agent.
The 6-6, 332-pound Pennel was suspended two times last season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He missed the first four games and last four games in 2016.
The Jets also have Deon Simon and Steve McLendon at nose tackle.
